The Bridge was built for the Black Lake development in North Oaks Minnesota, and took 9 months to build. It was constructed from oak trees cut during the clearing of trees for roads. The covered portion was 42' with each approach to the bridge being 30'. The main vertical posts are 12 x 12 white oak, deck planks were 3" thick. Most of the lumber was sawn on the James J. Hill farm, the location of the development. All the cutting and joinery were done on site using the time tested post and beam joinery. The mortise and tenon joints were pinned with 1" oak pegs.
