The newest piece is from a whole black walnut log that was purchased  a few years back, cut into 3" slabs, the slabs were numbered and dried in the solar kiln. The log was reassembled in order with the exception of the core pieces set aside for the arms. The center of this log runs through the elbow of the left arm (4th picture from the top).
